Description
For more than 80 years, the Tower at Unity Village has graced the skyline southeast of Kansas City with its iconic presence, earning a place on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Tower was conceived by Rickert Fillmore as a structure that would provide a much-needed water reservoir while reflecting the beauty of Italian Renaissance architecture.
When you’re driving through southeast Kansas City, it’s hard to miss the Unity Tower rising 165 feet above the campus of Unity Village. Built in 1929, it stands guard over one of Kansas City’s most iconic hidden gems, offering a unique experience for all types of visitors.
The grounds of Unity Village are an architectural marvel. Gorgeous little dwellings in the English Cotswold style, reminiscent of the old country’s meadow landscapes, dot the outer portions of the Village, while the grandiose Mediterranean-inspired buildings at the center of campus command attention.
